Backstreets back alright! Well at least AJ McLean and Nick Carter are, and they’re brining 'NSYNC's Joey Fatone and Boyz II Men singer Wanya Morris with them for a nostalgic four-night mini Las Vegas concert residency this August 19-22.

The plan is for Backstreet Boys along with the other boy band group members to unite in the intimate Sands Showroom for an interactive show dubbed The After Party, which will see the singers perform their fan favorite hits with a live band, attempt their beloved choreography (cause you know… time has passed and things don't move as they once did), bring in surprise guests and recount untold stories from their time on the road.
"We've had so much fun putting this show together and finally sharing a stage, I can't wait to share it with the fans,” McLean said in the events’ official press release. “I promise an incredible night of wild surprises, this is an absolute must see!”
“We wanted to do something with the idea of the Rat Pack meets the Pop age now — different artists coming together and doing a show that’s fun, but also takes you through a bit of history,” Fatone, told Variety. “But it organically also turned into more of a celebration of our bands and a homage to pop culture,” Fatone added. “You’re going to see these guys and these groups in a light you’ve never seen them in before.”
As for how the idea for The After Party came about, Fatone credits that to his and Carter's participation in FOX’s reality singing competition The Masked Singer. He explains, "It was so fun doing songs and covers, we thought, 'Why not integrate that into something we can do with a show?' We're getting our setlist together right now and coming up with a lot of crazy, interesting ideas.”
The news comes just weeks after McLean, Carter, Fatone and his former 'NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass hit the stage at The Grove in Los Angeles for a Pride event performance, giving us us all the nostalgic feels with a bit of Back-SYNC.
Interestingly enough as Fatone offered up, The After Party was actually in the works well before Back-SYNC. Revealing it was partly inspired by his Joey Fatone and Friends concerts at the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, where he performed alongside musicians including Chris Kirkpatrick, Ryan Cabrera and Boyz II Men’s Nathan Morris.
"Being on stage has always been a part of all of us so having the opportunity to create a show with the best songs of all our groups has been a lot of fun," Fatone added. "Working together has brought up so many memories and I’m excited to see how the fans react to seeing us all on stage together. Plus, we have some surprises in store!”
Tickets to The After Party go on sale Saturday, July 10 at 1 P.M. PT at Ticketmaster.com, Venetian.com, and any box office at The Venetian Resort, with a limited number of VIP Sound Check Experiences also available for purchase.
