It's been a rocky December for the Chiefs so far. The month started with their one-score loss to the Cincinnati Bengals – the third straight time they've lost to them – and continued last Sunday with an unconvincing win against a bad Denver Broncos team. Despite being one of two 10-win teams in the AFC and having all but wrapped up the AFC West title, there remains some uncertainty about what type of team this Chiefs group will be once the playoffs begin in a month. While speaking to 610's Fescoe In The Morning on Tuesday, Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney explained that, while there isn't too much reason to be concerned, Kansas City still has plenty of work to do.

"That wouldn't have been good enough against a playoff team," he said. "I think the better, positive here for Kansas City is just the idea that they have four weeks to sort of season. I think they have a good foundation, they're okay, but they do need to sharpen and clean before they get to the NFL playoffs. Because if you're doing what they did against a team Buffalo or Cincinnati, you're going to go home early. They may get a good team – if the season ended before yesterday, they would have been playing the Chargers, today it's the Patriots. So even that first matchup is going to be a little bit more difficult than it was a year ago ... time to clean it up, and they have four weeks to do so."
