Each week Christine and Salt interview the Badass Woman of the Week, a feature that aims to reward women who have overcome a challenge and emerged stronger as a result. Each Badass Woman wins an empowering B Badass bracelet from The Power to B and is featured on-air Fridays at 7:15 A.M. with Christine and Salt in the morning.
This week's honoree is Andrea Moffitt of West Hartford and she was nominated by — get your tissues ready — her husband, Al. Awwwwwww, we love it! Al — who is a physician — says of his amazing attorney-wife, "I’m nominating my wife because she is truly a badass in every sense of the word. She is the ultimate role model for our two-year-old daughter. She is an attorney who somehow manages to do it all. Andrea works full time, has set up volunteer opportunities with her company in the Hartford area and is a mentor. She is always there helping friends, relatives and making time to be there for her family. She is a loving mother and has managed to be so strong this year after losing her father. She deserves to have everyone know just how badass she is."
So just how badass is Andrea? She tells Christine and Salt, "you know, if I *can* do it, I WILL do it!" What does she do? Well, we're talking volunteering, cooking every meal from scratch, running an awesome instagram account with her sister featuring all those incredible meals, caring for her and Al's daughter Nora while hubby is putting in super long doctor hours — not to mention her OWN high pressure job of being an attorney. She takes all of this in stride despite having lost her beloved father in March. However, in typical fashion, she turned that sadness into joy by running the Brooklyn Half Marathon in his honor along with her sister and brother. In fact, Andrea has completed 15 half marathons including the Newport 13.1 which she ran while four months pregnant!
Congratulations Andrea! You have turned your obstacles into opportunities and we — along with The Power To B — celebrate you.
