This week we’re celebrating Michelle Burns from Glastonbury — the woman behind Gilbert the Party Pig! What started with one pig named Gilbert turned into a full-time mission traveling across New England bringing joy, education and LOTS of snorts to schools, libraries, nursing homes, birthday parties and even pig yoga events. Michelle and her family now care for several rescue pigs — including Sprinkle, the mini pig celebrity who appeared on Only Murders in the Building!
But their biggest dream is still ahead: creating the Gilbert Forever Sanctuary Farm — a permanent sanctuary where rescued pigs can live safely, peacefully and continue helping people connect with animals in meaningful ways. Michelle says what began as one pig needing a home became a promise to rescue, protect and educate. The family is currently fundraising to help secure land and build the future sanctuary farm right here in New England. And yes…one of the pigs, Buddy, joined us LIVE in studio this morning. 🐽
