Meet Julian Haines—a woman who turned passion, hustle, and heart into one of the most charming coffee businesses in Connecticut.

Julian originally went to school to become an elementary school teacher and landed her first job in the South. But like many educators, she found the pay didn’t quite match the passion. So she picked up a side job at a coffee shop—and that’s where the spark was lit.

Fast forward to today: Julian is the founder of Happy Tail Coffee, a mobile coffee trailer she built from a converted horse trailer (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds!). She now slings fresh coffee and homemade treats from her cozy setup, typically parked at Flamig Farm in the mornings through late afternoon, with pop-ups at other locations throughout the week.

But Julian didn’t stop at lattes and scones. She’s licensed to serve craft cocktails at private events, too—because why not mix a little fun with your caffeine? Even better? Each month, she donates a portion of her profits to local animal rescues—proving that Julian isn’t just brewing coffee, she’s brewing kindness. She’s creative, compassionate, and completely self-made. Julian Haines, we see you—and you are our Badass Woman of the Week.
