This week’s badass woman is Kristi Sharkevich — a business owner, mom, and all-around force.
Kristi spent more than 10 years in the medical field, including oncology and phlebotomy, originally planning to become a nurse. But she realized her true passion was creative work. In 2016, she started doing marketing on the side, and by 2018 she made the bold move to leave her full-time job and go all-in.
Her journey included five years of IVF and two miscarriages, but she never stopped pushing forward. Today, she’s a mom to two healthy baby girls, and the founder of Shark Social Media LLC, launched in 2022. Her company offers social media management, website services, rebranding, plus access to photographers and videographers for businesses ready to grow.
And she does all of this while married to a Hartford firefighter who also volunteers in Wethersfield — meaning she often runs her business and the household when he’s on duty. Kristi just opened her first office and is already expanding. She’s proof that strength looks like courage, reinvention, and never giving up.
