Nicole Moleti and Krista Wells are a pair of West Hartford moms who between them have six kids and six jobs. But they obviously love torture because they added a new title to their long resume -- best selling author! Yep, during their downtime (sitting on the sidelines at their kids games) they wrote a novel under the pen name Addison McKnight. Like, seriously — nearly ALL of us have said at one point or another, "hey I could write a book." But these two go-getters went and DID IT!
Christine Lee chatted with the authors about their novel, "An Imperfect Plan." Turns out they were inspired by another pair of Connecticut women who also write under a pen name — Liv Constantine. Constantine wrote the international bestseller and Reese Witherspoon Hello Sunshine book club pick, "The Last Mrs. Parrish." That book set the wheels in motion.
"An Imperfect Plan" is all about perfection. Perfect wife, perfect, mom, perfect husband, perfect kids. But as we all know, there is no such thing as perfection. Written from the point-of-view of two women, Collette and Greta, this book twists and turns through fire and fertility — yes, fire and fertility — and there's no looking back or putting this book down once you start!
Writing a book seems challenging enough, but to do it with another person could get messy. Krista says the only thing they really agued about was, of all things, the shampoo Colette uses, "I think she should have Suave shampoo and Nicole would be like, I want her to use Pantene."
The Addison McKnight power duo is already fast at work on their next thriller titled, "The Island Remains" which takes place on Martha's Vineyard. They even got advice from one very famous Nantucket author (cough, cough Elin Hilderbrand!)
Christine asked the authors to share their favorite summer reads — besides their own book, of course. You can swipe through the books they mentioned in the Instagram post above. And don't forget to check out the full interview below.
