Ansonia, Conn./WTIC Radio - Ansonia police have released photos and video of a street takeover early Saturday morning.
The video shows an unruly mob descending on a police cruiser in the area of Wakelee Avenue and Franklin Street around 12:30 Saturday morning.
Police say the crowd numbered between 50 and 100 and there were several dozen vehicles involved.
In the video released by police, an officer backs their cruiser slowly down the street as fireworks go off and some in the crowd make obscene gestures.
The cruiser hits a vehicle behind it in the process.
Also in the video, one person throws a traffic cone at the cruiser, smashing the windsheild while someone else jumps on to the hood the car.
Police are continuing to cull through video and are asking anyone who may have video of the incident to contact them.
