Groton, Conn./WTIC Radio - An investigation into human remains found near a cemetery in the city of Groton last month is now a murder investigation.

That probe also took police to a home on Allen Street last week.

Groton city police chief David Burton said the victim is Suzanne Wormser, 58 of Groton.

The suspect has been identified as Donald Coffel, 68, also of Groton.

The remains were found near Colonel Ledyard Cemetery on March 19.

Burton said the two were in a relationship.

The chief further stated that the case was in no way related to rumors that have been circulating around New England about a serial killer.

Several other individuals are, or will be questioned, said Burton.

Coffel is being held on $1 million bond and is due in court on Monday.
