HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Irregularities in the Offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor are uncovered in the bipartisan State of Connecticut Auditors of Public Accounts recent report Thursday.
The report released this morning looks into the fiscal years that ended in 2023 and 2024.
It finds the Office of the Governor didn't properly maintain daily vehicle mileage logs, although the logs were available.
Out of 84 times when the vehicles should have been parked at approved state lots overnight, they were only parked there 37 times.
The report goes on to find a roughly 3:1 ratio of computers to employees, suggesting an excess.
It also finds staff timesheets in the Office of the Governor were approved without direct knowledge of work hours or locations, while also lacking written procedures on how to review and approve timesheets.
Recommendations include the review of existing policies within the Department of Administrative services and the creation of a timesheet policy that's unique to the Office of the Governor.
