Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - A state correction officer is facing charges she struck her boyfriend with her vehicle while she was under the influence.

Under arrest is Gabrielle Del Vallle-Colon, 37, of Sprague.

State police say it stems from an incident last February in Preston along Route 164.

Accoding to troopers, officers responded that night to find Del Vallle-Colon outside her vehicle next to a man with chest and head injuries.

They say it appeared as if Del Vallle-Colon crossed the double-yellow line on Route 164 and jumped a curb when she struck the 33-year-old victim.

According to an arrest warrant, a witness told troopers Del Vallle-Colon was seen at a bar with the victim in Westerly, Rhode Island prior to the incident.

Investigators say the suspect gave conflicting accounts of what happened and appeared under the influence.

Del Vallle-Colon, an officer at the New Haven Correctional Center, faces motor vehicle, substance, and assault charges.

She is free in $150,000 bond.
