New London, Conn./WTIC Radio - Crews continue to bring down what is left of a church that collapsed last week in New London.
The historic First Congregational Church on Union Street was a fixture for decades.
No one was injured in the collapse.
Now, church officials are working to hold mass elsewhere and continue a breakfast program for the needy.
New London Mayor Michael Passero said "we're hoping that this project will probably wrap up towards the end of this week."
Passero said the area will be fenced off and the site turned back over to the church for remediation once the demolition is complete.
