Unemployment increased four-tenths of a point to 4.1%.

Officials at the state Department of Labor said the number of jobs added last month was estimated to be 2,900.

Also, the gains recorded in July were revised upward from 5,600 to 8,700, DOL said.

Sectors seeing the most gains for the month of August were Professional and Business Services, Education and Health Services, and Manufacturing.

The construction and education sectors are above pre-pandemic levels, according to DOL.
