(Farmington, Conn./WTIC) - Police in Farmington have released the name of the officer who was struck by a vehicle in the line of duty in the wee hours Monday morning.
O'Donnell was pinned against his cruiser by the driver of a stolen vehicle just before 1:00 on Monday morning, police said.
O'Donnell happened upon a catalytic converter theft when he was rammed, investigators said.
He sustained multiple broken bones and will have a lengthy rehab ahead of him, police said, but he is expected to recover.
Officer James O'Donnell is a three year veteran of the force.
