In Hamden, a man is dead after he became trapped in a gravel machine.
Police say they received the call and responded around 7 a.m. Thursday to 2895 State Street, home of Modern Metals Corp.
A preliminary investigation finds that the 32-year-old victim was tending to a large piece of equipment when the accident occurred.
Police say the man sustained traumatic asphyxiation and was pronounced dead.
Hamden police are being assisted in the investigation by the fire department and OSHA.
A police spokesman said, "at this time, the preliminary investigation does not indicate any evidence of malice or criminal wrongdoing by any third party".
