Hartford police arrest shooting suspect

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - On Wednesday, Hartford police arrested the suspect of a shooting that sent one man to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Albany Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday where they located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim is a man in his thirties, police said, and he is currently listed in critical but stable condition at the hospital.

During the investigation, authorities developed a suspect with probable cause to charge the shooter with first-degree Assault and Criminal Possession of a firearm, police said.

After an arrest warrant was obtained, officers located the suspect in Hartford Wednesday and arrested him.

Police identified the suspect as Jose Rodriguez, 22, of Hartford.

Bond was set at $1 million.
