NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Superintendent of the New Britain School District has called bussing issues at the beginning of the school year in the city "unacceptable" while the bussing company apologizes.

There have been reports of students being late or brought to the wrong place. Many of the students have special needs.

One report told the story of a child taken to Danbury instead of New Britain.

In a statement released on Facebook, First Student apologized "for the frustration and inconvenience."

The letter to the community goes on to say the company is taking corrective action to stabilize operations and deliver "consistent, dependable service" through the "careful hiring, training" of new staff.
