Colchester, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-State Police and his family have appealed to the public for information in the murder nearly four years ago of James Stone Junior in Colchester.

The 36-year-old Stone died from gunshot wounds to the chest. He was discovered May 18, 2018, in a trailer he formerly lived in on the Golden Hill Paugusette Reservation. State Police Detective David Bennett said Stone was retrieving his property from the site when he was found dead.

Last month, the Governor's office offered a 25-thousand-dollar reward.

"Jimmy lived a peaceful and productive life and is missed every single moment of every day. We are asking the public for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or person responsible for Jimmy's murder," his mother Bambi Stone said.

"Jimmy Stone didn't have a real large net of friends. It was a small kind of group. That's really part of the investigation that we're trying to get information on. It was a rural area. There's not a lot of houses around there," Bennett said.

He said about one hundred people have been interviewed. "We've used cell phone information and data to help the investigation. To try to pinpoint people that could have been there and to rule out others."
