Farmington, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-On Wednesday, the state House and Senate are expected to consider Governor Lamont's Gas Tax Holiday,
Senate President Martin Looney (D-New Haven) said.

The measure  suspends the state's 25-cents-a gallon state gas tax for a three-month period. It also includes free CT Transit buses and a second tax break on the purchase of clothing.

Looney expects state surplus and federal funds to be spent wisely.
"We now have an opportunity to catch up on certain areas, especially in terms of providing enhanced and improved mental health services for  children and older teenagers. That's a clear problem. We've seen a mental health crisis develop during the Pandemic. We need to put more  resources towards addressing that."
