Milford, Conn./WTIC Radio - In Milford, a police officer was injured over the weekend during a street takeover.
Police say numerous vehicles turned out in a supermarket parking lot on Bridgeport Avenue on Saturday.
The officer was responding to a small fire ignited by an M-80 firework.
It was then the officer was surrounded by the unruly mob, hit and punched.
He also had an unknown object thrown at his head.
The policeman was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injures.
His cruiser was also damaged by some of the offenders.
That investigation is ongoing.
