
New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - On Wednesday, New Haven police announced arrests in two murder cases.
Last Friday, officers found Naysha Mendez, 35, in Evergreen Cemetery.
She had been stabbed.
Now under arrest on murder charges is Edwin Arroyo-Roman, 55.
Police said the two were acquainted with one another.
At a news conference, Police Chief Karl Jacobson lauded the quick work of his detectives in making an arrest.
Arroyo-Roman was arraigned Wednesday and is being held on $3 million bond.
In a case from last year, Jacobson said they have arrested Oscar Darius, 29, in connnection with a fatal shooting from January of 2024.
Gregory Perez, Sr. was shot in his Carmel Street home during a dispute over a tattoo.
Darius is being held on the murder charge on a $1 million dollar bond.
Perez son Gregory, Jr. said, "my dad was an amazing guy who'd give the shirt off his back" and was always supportive of him and his sisters.
