Naugatuck, Conn./WTIC Radio - The state Office of Inspector General is investigating a police involved shooting in Naugatuck.
Police say they were called to Baummer's Pond in the borough around 9:15 Thursday morning on a report of a man armed with a knife.
A confrontation developed between the man and two officers, who wound up discharging their guns.
The person was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The police officers are also being treated and are safe.
State Police Central District Major Crime Division is also involved in the investigation, standard protocol when an officer discharges his or her duty weapon.
