
New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - Gunfire erupted in a New Haven neighborhood Tuesday night in which plain clothes officers were fired upon.
The incident began with multiple ShotSpotter alerts and 911 calls of shots fired around 9:30 p.m in the area of Hamilton Street and Grand Avenue.
Witnesses told officers two vehicles were involved.
The plain clothes officers were working a detail nearby when they saw a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.
During the pursuit police say their unmarked vehicle was fired on by someone in the fleeing vechicle.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect vehicle was stopped on Interstate 91 in New Haven.
Three guns were found inside.
Two of the four suspects arrested are juveniles.
The other two--18-year-old Tony Gibbs and 19-year-old Elija Black--face numerous charges including assault, weapons in a motor vehicle, unlawful discharge and interfering with police.
