Fairfield, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Fairfield have made an arrest in connection with a crash last month that left five Sacred Heart University students and an Uber driver with serious injuries.
Police say on September 29, Tyler Delk, 19, of South Orange, New Jersey and an SHU student, was driving an Audi convertible when he collided with a Toyota Corolla on Jefferson Street operated by the Uber driver.
There were four SHU students in the Uber.
Investigators say Delk's vehicle exceeded speeds of 85 MPH at the time of the crash.
In addition, police say Delk's blood alcohol count was ten times the legal limit.
The five others who were hospitalized have since been released, while Delk remains in the hospital.
He faces numerous counts of reckless driving, assault with a motor vehicle and reckless endangerment.
Delk posted a $250,000 bond and will appear in court when he's medically cleared, police said.
