Manchester, Conn./WTIC Radio - A teenager is in the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in Manchester Wednesday evening.
Manchester Police and Fire/EMS were dispatched to the scene just after 5:30 p.m. on New State Road near Hilliard Street.
The girl was found lying in the road with what were described as "significant life-threatening" injuries.
She was treated at the scene and rushed to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.
Investigators say the driver, an 81-year-old man, had been traveling north on New State Road and was located a short distance from the crash scene.
Police say the driver was not injured and is cooperating in the investigation.
