For the third time in three years, a beluga whale has died at Connecticut's Mystic Aquarium.
The death of the whale, named Kharabali, was posted on the aquarium's Facebook page: "The loss weighs heavily upon us, especially our animal care staff."
The death of Kharabali comes after the Havana the beluga whale died at Mystic in February of last year.
Seven months before that, a beluga named Havok died at Mystic in 2021.
The cause of death of Kharabali has not been determined. A necropsy is planned.
