HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Thousands of state employees are still not in compliance with Connecticut's COVID-19 vaccine requirement for those who work for the state.
As of Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m., Governor Lamont's Office reports about 3,000 employees (11%) are not vaccinated and have not complied with the weekly testing alternative.
Roughly 23,000 workers (73%) are fully vaccinated and about 5,000 employees (15%) are choosing to test weekly.
The Lamont Administration expects more people will comply with the mandate by Monday night at 11:59:59 p.m., expecting minimal disruption to operations.
Workers who do not choose to submit to the vaccine or weekly testing can be forced to take unpaid leave.
The Connecticut National Guard was asked last week to be on stand by for activation, in case there was a need to cover a worker shortage.
