(Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Two days before the 4th of July, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is reporting three Connecticut swim areas are off limits to the public for the time being.
DEEP says Day Pond State Park in Colchester, Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middlefield, and Wharton Brook State Park in Wallingford are closed to swimmers.
All four of Connecticut shoreline beaches remain open for swimming, said DEEP.
There's no word on when the water at the three impacted areas will be tested.
