Storrs, Conn. (WTIC Radio)- As UConn students move into the Storrs and Stamford campuses this weekend, Covid protocols will remain in place throughout the Spring semester, the University announced.

Students have already been learning remotely.

Both residential and commuter students must show proof of PCR or antigen testing 36 hours before returning to Storrs or regional campuses. Those testing positive are required to recover at home.

Arrival testing will be provided to students. Those testing positive will be required to return home and isolate for ten days. The testing for those arriving on campus begins the week of January 31st.

UConn Dean of Student Affairs, Eleanor Daugherty said students will follow a color-coded system of red, the most cautious.

"The impact is that we're reducing the size of gatherings that we host in our buildings. We're adding physical distancing in our recreational and residential areas.
It's more  aggressive wearing of  masks indoors, but also outside. When you're approximate to someone else."
