Illinois is posed to lose its job gains if the state closes down again

As Illinois Policy reports, most small businesses have less than two months of cash on hand to weather storms.  The COVID shutdown has already lasted longer than that.  

Many businesses could close permanently in Illinois if shutdown measures continue.  


Research analyst Bryce Hill said Illinoisians are aware that immigration, more so than before the pandemic, could happen rapidly.

The data has shown that residents tend to leave their state if they incorporate a progressive income tax, he said.
