The Fixx's Cy Curnin joins the Mark Reardon Show to share on their new album and when the band is going to be back in town for another concert!
“In the early 70’s, my sister took me to see early David Bowie, Bob Marley, and I’ve seen these things and I’m like really understanding that it’s what I wanted to do with my life. And then my sister introduces me to a musician whose still a drummer in The Fixx, Adam Woods. I met him when I was 13 or 14…He and I really formed a friendship,” Curnin shared on his original inspiration.
He stated later, “'Every Five Seconds reminds' me of my Grandpa who used to take me to the shore and we’d watch the lighthouse flashing every five seconds. He would say to me, ‘Whenever a ship is in trouble, the captain looks for that light and it steers him back home to harbor.’ The world that we live in right now, we have kind of lost sight of the lighthouse. There’s a song called 'Lighthouse' on the album…”
