Dr. Marty Makary: 'People who had the infection do not die of COVID because of a second infection'

Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Dr. Marty Makary joined the show to discuss the origins of COVID and the accuracy of the case numbers.
Dr. Makary said many doctors were running around from the beginning trying to tell folks to prepare for COVID affecting the United States like it did in Italy.
He said it was hard to spread the word on the national media because Dr. Fauci was basically consuming every entity. Fauci, in the beginning, was very lax about COVID. Makary said he and his colleagues were sounding the alarm about how dangerous this virus really could be.
The doctor explained why he would like to settle the issue surrounding gain of function. He is anti-gain of function and said Fauci is obviously for it. Makary recommended that after this pandemic, we need to take gain of function totally out of the picture and practice.
