Missouri State Senator for St. Charles County, Nick Schroer, talks about State Bill 134, the "Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act", aka Missouri's "Don't Say Gay" bill.

Senator Schroer said on the subject of should the school have control, “Is my child saying they want to have a different name, a different, quote unquote pronoun? These school districts were keeping that stuff private. So, no, they are not best suited. The one who is best suited is the parents, the one who's in the driver's seat of the upbringing, the education of their kid. That's who we need to empower, and that's the rights that we need to respect here.”

He also said, “We need to start preparing these kids to take on the world, look at what Russia is doing, look at what North Korea is doing, what China, what they are doing in their education system. They are not concentrating on this garbage, They are going school year round to prepare these kids to take on the world and be the top of the top when it comes to wisdom and intelligence”

The bill has nothing to do with “being gay, being straight, being a tiger or a unicorn”, says Schroer, but concerns that teachers can’t teach “sexuality and sexual content” without parental consent.
