ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - After nearly two weeks of below-freezing temperatures in the greater St. Louis area, we can finally start to see some heat by early next week.
The National Weather Service (NWS) tweeted, "Say goodbye to the deep freeze!" And is predicting a weekend warm-up that will bring some "above normal" weather over the next 14 days.
Missouri and Illinois are in areas that will see temperatures greater than 40% above normal next week, the NWS says.
The expected highs in St. Louis will finally be above 32-degrees starting this weekend and then we'll get as warm as 52-degrees on Tuesday and 51 on Friday, according to AccuWeather.com.
Temperatures have been as low as 45-degrees below normal over the past few days in St. Louis. Monday's snow storm that brought more than 10-inches of fresh powder into some areas was just the third time since 1890 that there was at least 2-inches of now and temperatures less than 5-degrees in St. Louis.
Across the U.S., more than 100 million people were included in some type of winter weather warning, watch or advisory, the National Weather Service said.
