33-year old Firefighter Benjamin Polson was well educated, a law degree, a degree in economics, and MBA, but Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson says he was following the career path of his father, St. Louis Fire Captain Jimmy Polson.

"A lot of them have family members in this job who absolutely love what we do and I know it's cliche, but people say it's a calling. When you look at the people who stay around and their backgrounds, it's got to be a calling."

Jenkerson says the investigation into the fire that killed Polson is ongoing, and there's no word yet on what might have started the fire in a building that may have been vacant.
