Beginning January 1, not only will approximately half of Illinois inmates be released, but cash bail will be eliminated as well.
“They’re trying to magic think their way into a ideal society where there are no bad guys…everybody’s going to behave, and we all can have a big group hug,” Mauro said.
“And they’re going to learn the hard way, as we are around the country these days…that it just doesn’t work that way.”
