New FBI Special Agent in charge of St. Louis office shares his goals

Jay Greenburg, the new Special Agent in charge of the St. Louis Field Office of the FBI joins the Mark Reardon Show to share his goals after taking over the position two months ago.

“The primary mission of the FBI is the one that we replicate here as well, which is to protect against a terrorist attack. There are still groups outside the country that are trying to infiltrate inside the country to conduct large scale attacks. The biggest threat we have right now in the area is a lone wolf actor or a domestic violent extremist. That can be anybody who is reading these things online and sort of self radicalizes or simply develops a grievance and then picks up a weapon and goes into public and starts shooting,” said Special Agent Greenburg.

Later he commented on corrupt officials, “I want everybody out there to understand that the vast majority of the people who go into government service do so with a good heart and they want to make a good positive contribution. It's our job to sort of call out the people who are in it for themselves. I can't talk about ongoing cases of course in any detail. We go wherever the evidence takes us. And our goal at the end of the day is to always, you know, root out the folks who are in it for themselves rather than for the public service aspect.”

Agent Greenburg also added, “If there's something happening right in front of you, 911 is your best option, but if there's somebody you want us to look at or know about 1 800 call FBI is the right call to make.''
