WANTED: Police search for suspect in fatal shooting of MetroLink security guard

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The search continues for the suspect who shot and killed a 30-year old MetroLink security guard Sunday morning at the Delmar Loop station.

James Cook worked for G4S, the private security firm that contracts with MetroLink. St. Louis Police say when they arrived, they found Cook who died at the scene, he had been shot multiple times.

Investigators say there was a disturbance and when cook intervened, the suspect shot him. Police believe Cook may have had contact earlier with that suspect for sleeping on a train. Police released this photo of a suspect in the fatal shooting:

"The suspect is described as a black male, 40s, wearing black hooded sweatshirt with orange lettering that may reference a football team," Police say. "He's also wearing a black coat, dark blue face 'Gator' style mask, stocking cap with orange lettering, black computer type bag w/strap, dark pants, graying beard/mustache, grayish hair protruding from stocking cap. The suspect is armed with a pistol and may frequent the mass transit system."

Cook is married with two small children. Sullivan Independent News reports he did not have life insurance, so a Go Fund Me account has been setup. It has raised more than $13,000 towards a goal of $100,000 to help Cook's family.
