MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KMOX) - A pair of teenaged boys are lucky to be alive after falling through the ice on Creve Coeur Lake Tuesday. The entire rescue was caught on video.

Maryland Heights Fire Chief Stave Olshwanger tells KMOX crews were just finishing up ice rescue training nearby, and saw the boys fall in. "One of our deputy chiefs that was down there actually witnessed them fall in, immediately called out on the radio."
The crew was recording drone video of the rescue training and shared the video of the real rescue:
"They figured they were about 300 yards or so out and the ice gave way," explains Olshwanger. "We don't know why they went out on the ice."
The training was being filmed and the department captured the moment they realized the boys were in the icy water.
The two boys were taken to a hospital, but appeared to be recovering.
Last winter, two people died after falling through the ice there.
