ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - What's it like being a viral sensation? It's something we had to ask KMOX reporter Kevin Killeen after his "February" video gained more than 2 million views on Twitter over the weekend.

He describes it as being a bit uncomfortable.

"The reaction has been like when somebody sings Happy Birthday to you in the beginning, but they keep on singing it and keep on singing it," Killeen says. "I'm just baffled. I just think about the idea of, 'Beware when the world speaks well of you.' They're gonna turn on me and say 'Wait a minute, this guy's a shame!'"

Killeen wrote the ode to the month February in 2016 and year after year, the video becomes a viral hit in St. Louis. But this year was very different after it was shared by some popular social media accounts, then the Boston Globe wrote about it, so did the Today Show, New York Times and The Daily Beast.

He says the reaction has, surprisingly, been 100% positive and he's even received a marriage proposal, from a woman in Germany who asked if he wanted to "hunker over a bowl of chili" with her, stealing a line from his February piece.

So where did the idea come from? Killeen says he wrote down his thoughts about February while sitting at home.

"I did have a notebook. The night before, in the basemen, I was sitting in the barber chair we have down there and just writing some thoughts," Killeen says. "It was just one of the many features we did. You would just kind of wing it."
