A former contestant of the game show “Family Feud” was arrested on Monday and charged with the murder of his wife. Now, chilling clips of him on the show have recently circulated, with him saying the worst mistake he made at their wedding was saying, “I do.”
Timothy Bliefnick, 39, has been accused of murdering his estranged wife, Rebecca Bliefnick, after he allegedly broke into her home on Feb. 23 and shot her multiple times, the Quincy Police Department shared.
Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, worked as a nurse, and police found her body in her home after she didn’t pick up her three kids from school, police shared.
While the couple got married in 2009, they have been separated for several years and were going through the process of divorce at the time of her death. According to the New York Post, she had filed a restraining order against Bliefnick and his father.
After Bliefnick was arrested in connection to the murder and news began to circulate, footage of the couple on “Family Feud” began to pop up, showing a chilling moment when host Steve Harvey asked, “What’s the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?”
“Honey, I love you. But said, ‘I do,’” Bliefnick said quickly, sporting a grin. He had been a contestant on the show before the pandemic in the fall of 2019, and it aired on ABC in the spring of 2020, the network shared.
After he delivered the answer, the audience groaned along with the rival team, seeming uneasy with the answer, as is typical for the game show. However, Bliefnick quickly looked to turn the situation around while Harvey stared at him blankly.
“Not my mistake! Not my mistake! I love my wife,” Bliefneck quickly recanted. “I’m going to get in trouble for that, aren’t I?”
“Yes, it’s going to be a lot of hell to pay at your house,” Harvey responded.
Now some are pointing to the game show appearance, asking if it was a possible warning sign.
An attorney for Bliefnick spoke with the Post, saying that he has never been arrested and that the couple’s three sons had never been removed from their home because of domestic violence.
Bliefnick is currently being held in Adams County Jail with a no-bond warrant.
