A bit of Pittsburgh history is returning to one store's shelves for a short time -- and buyers are invited to smack it right on the backside if they have to.
Heinz Ketchup in glass bottles will be returning to the shelves of Walmart stores, so feel free to smack every last little bit out of the bottom. Glass bottles have been gone for about a decade but the memories live on.
A two-pack of the glass bottled ketchup will sell for 14.99.
"From the famous bottle smack to the slow pour ads fans grew up watching, the HEINZ glass bottle has been part of family dinners, cookouts, and diner tables for decades. The campaign celebrates the real ways fans go above and beyond for their favorite ketchup—because when it comes to fries, burgers, and hot dogs, it has to be HEINZ," HEINZ said in a statement announcing the news.
Founded by H.J. Heinz in Pittsburgh, the company first started selling its then “Catsup” on store shelves in 1876.
While ketchup has become the star, Heinz started his company by selling ‘pure and superior’ horseradish in 1869.
The comeback is part of HEINZ's new "157 Years of Being Food’s Best Friend.”
