Living in Texas, we all understand the absolute nightmare that is dealing with mosquitos, and if you’ve ever thought that the little pests attack you more than anyone else you know, scientists may have found the reason why.
Researchers at Rockefeller University in New York believe that certain body odors attract mosquitos more than others!
Unfortunately, it isn’t the type of body that can be cleaned up with deodorant or a shower, though.
Scientists had test subjects wear a nylon stocking on their arm for six hours to lock their scent to the material, placed the stockings in a controlled environment, and let the mosquitos have at them.

They found that the mosquitos were 100 times more attracted to some stockings over others, and that was due to more of a presence of carboxylic acid in the oil of that human skin.
According to The Post, Carboxylic acid helps keep our skin moisturized and protected, and some people just produce more of it. Though humans can't really smell it, mosquitos can!
And unfortunately, there’s nothing we can really do about it.
The study also found that changing your diet or showering more doesn't make a difference. So if you’re a mosquito magnet now, you’ll probably be a mosquito magnet forever.
