A Pearl River man convicted of rape and child abuse will head to prison with no chance of being released.
Doyle Eugene Glaze Jr. was found guilty on July 17 of first-degree rape and three counts of aggravated crimes against nature.
Glaze’s three victims were minors and were abused on multiple occasions in a four-year span between 2015 and 2019.
Glaze was taken into custody in October 2020 after the discovery of explicit images on a phone belonging to one of the victims. That victim was 8 years old at the time.
Victims stated in court that Glaze threatened to beat or shoot them if they told someone about the abuse he was inflicting upon them, which included forcing them to kneel on rice, being locked in a trailer inside a hot room and getting hit with a belt.
“The defendant is not just a rapist, but a thief. He’s stolen their innocence, peace of mind, hope, and worth. There is one thing you can do to restore them, and that is a just verdict. Tell these victims they are worthy,” Assistant District Attorney Doug Freese said during closing statements.
Glaze was sentenced to life without parole on the first-degree rape charge and another 218 years in prison on top of that for the other counts.
