House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has said several times that lawmakers may consider an impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden over unproven claims of financial misconduct. He doubled down on that in an exclusive interview with the Annie Frey Show on KFTK Thursday.

"This is just the beginning," he said. "I made the commitment to you just like I made the commitment to the constitution. We will follow this wherever this takes us. The American public has the right to know."

House Republicans are raising questions about the Biden family finances and claim they need to be investigated. So far, they've acknowledged, the House’s probes have not proven any wrongdoing, but an impeachment inquiry “allows Congress to get the information to be able to know the truth.”

"Such a probe could be as lengthy or swift as the House determines, potentially stretching into campaign season," the AP reported.

Democrats have said talk of impeachment over unfounded rumors are a distraction attempt as former President and GOP-nominee hopeful Donald Trump faces down his fourth indictment.

In the KFTK interview, McCarthy said it's important for the GOP to gain a larger majority in the House in 2024.

"Think about what we've been able to uncover so far ... We've gone after the FBI that went after parents. We've shown that that was a lie going to school board meetings. We've watched and stopped the FBI from going into Catholic Masses because they wanted to investigate Catholics, thinking there was something wrong with that religion. If we don't stand up to them. Think about what's happening in social media. We've just gotten new papers from Facebook showing government, under the Biden Administration, showing them what to take off because they have different beliefs. It is not right that boys participate in women's sports. Everybody knows that it's wrong.

"But we're getting some wins even with this slim majority."
