What is the ERASER Act?

Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt joins Mark Reardon to discuss NASA's request for over $22 million to create a diversity office, his take on the GOP presidential hopefuls, his co-sponsored REINS Act to dismantle the administrative state, and introduces the ERASER Act to reduce federal regulations significantly!

“These unelected bureaucrats that sit in these agencies, who are making policy for administrative roles that nobody ever had to vote on, it’s become a behemoth, right? You wanna get to the root of why people are frustrated, it’s because they sent people there and it doesn’t seem like anything changes because these administrative state has gotten so big,” started Senator Schmitt.

He continued, “My bill, the ERASER Act would say if any agency is gonna try to put a new rule out there, they have to pull back three. The REIGNS Act, which I’m co-sponsoring with Senator [Rand] Paul says if this is such a good idea and you're gonna put a proposal out there, congress should have to vote on it.”

Senator Schmitt elaborated, “If you want to ban gas stoves, congress would actually have to vote on that stuff. Make us accountable, put the power back into the Article 1 branch where it belongs. This is the overall effort on my part and others to dismantle the administrative state.”
