Attorney Thomas DeVore has garnered attention for his battle against Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s emergency orders. Recently Judge Raylene Grishow ruled in favor of DeVore, declaring Pritzker’s emergency order mandating masks in schools null and void. DeVore says that he has no problem with masks, rather he is concerned by the method by which Governor Pritzker has implemented his mitigation efforts. The attorney described them as dictatorial.
“What Pritzker doesn’t appreciate is that the risk from the virus is infinitely smaller than what we face from his tyrannical rule,” says DeVore.
According to DeVore, it was fear of Pritzker more than the fear of the virus that made school districts comply with the mandates. The way of combating that was to give people a voice and that is what DeVore did through his representation.
