New polling from the Trafalgar group shows a change in Republican voter's views on the Missouri Senate Race.
The poll, taken after allegations of domestic violence and child abuse against Eric Greitens were revealed, show Rep Vicky Hartzler with a narrow .6 lead over the ousted former Missouri Governor.
"It's got Vicky Hartzler at almost 25%, Eric Greitens at 24.3, Eric Schmitt at 21.6, Billy Long at 8%, [Dave] Schatz and [Mark] McCloskey are tied in the twos," says Marc Cox, "I don't know that you can look at that and not deny the fact that those allegations had an impact on this race, although its within the margin of error still among the top three."
"It should have had an impact," says former Senator Jim Talent, "I said on this show, eight months ago, that if Eric Greitens is the nominee, the Senate race is not gonna be about inflation, or the border, or crime or foreign policy or what it should be about. It's gonna be about his personal life!"
"What happened in his basement, however many years ago, or his marriage or whatever," continued Talent, "that's the only way Republicans, in my opinion, can lose the seat."
