Missouri State Senator Bill Eigel joined Marc Cox live in Jefferson City at the Missouri State Capitol, and quickly acknowledged that he's pursuing legislation that would repeal the personal property tax in the state.
"I just don't think that paying hundreds, or maybe thousands, of dollars every December 1 for the crime of owning a car, which you've gotta have just to get to work every single day," says Eigel. "Most states have gotten away from it, I think we ought to as well."
Eigel says when he got involved in politics, "my intention was to cut people's taxes, and I think we need to be very candid and honest. When I'm talking about cutting people's taxes, I'm not worried about replacing what are record amounts of revenue coming into every level of government. Whether it's the Federal government, whether it's the state government, whether it's your local school boards. They have never had more money, than they've had right now."
