Former Canadian Olympic speed skier, Vince Poscente joined Marc Cox to weigh-in on the Sha'Carri Richardson situation. Richardson has been left off the US Olympic team following a failed drug test that detected marijuana in her system.
"I just empathize for her like most everybody," says Poscente, "and then you factor in that marijuana is lumped in with ecstasy and heroin as banned substances. And then the rules are the rules."
Poscente continued, "so you've got this confluence of an unfortunate circumstance, a 2-year old woman who is struggling, and she owns up to it."
"She made a mistake. She had discipline, more than you and I put together, and she made a mistake. It's an unfortunate situation," says Poscente.
The 1992 Winter Olympian expects the International Olympic Committee to look into where marijuana is classified in the future.
